Every book, every volume you see here, has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens. ~The Shadow of the Wind

Saturday Snapshot

the old railroad bridge just outside of town

In the summer (and even some die-hard water babies of winter) will go kayaking, canoeing and rafting.  About a week ago traffic was stopped on our way out of town and I could not figure out why until I looked down at the river......there were 4 deer standing in the water as peaceful as you please.  Now that would have been an award-winning photo!

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by At Home With Books. To participate, please visit Alyce's site.
Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. I love this kind of photo...a reminder of times gone by :) Deer always seem to show up when you least expect them...of course, you never have a camera :/

  4. This is a gorgeous image, and I can imagine that it's so peaceful and wonderful to be there in person. Nothing like that here in Orlando, that's for sure! Great photo today!

  12. An old (or vintage?) bridge is just such a nice thing to look at. Makes me think of how many people traveled over it, who traveled on it, and if any of them were famous. Love it.
