Every book, every volume you see here, has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens. ~The Shadow of the Wind

All Fool's Day....Your Best (or Worst) April Fool's Day Experience

April Fools Day Images

I have to admit I am not a big fan of April Fool's Day - I mean where in the world did it come from and why? Who wants to be the butt of some horribly funny prank that the family talks about even twenty years after it happened?!? I mean, come on!

Twenty years you say? Yep! My family still talks about the time when I was fourteen, my brother was ten and he was figuring out just what an April Fool's Day prank truly means.....so of course, he practices on moi!  He happened to have a rubber snake in his repertoire of toys so the snake somehow finds it's way underneath my pillow.  Needless to say, the world heard my scream when I found the snake! And my family ..... well, let's just say they're still laughing about my antics when I found the snake!

What about you, dear Reader? Any pranks you've played or had acted out on you? Oh, do share!

  1. We generally don't do anything physical like that - we just try to get other people to fall for a whopper of a lie.

  3. I don't think I've ever done anything out of the ordinary on April fools... though I'm sure someone played a trick on me once a long time ago...

  4. I don't do April Fool's Day. I'm superstitious and I think it's like asking for trouble.

  5. That's a classic joke your brother pulled. My worst joke was when I taught my little one about April Fools...I'm now forced to listen to 100s of jokes.

  6. I have never been the butt of an April Fool's Day joke, and would like to keep it that way! I am not a big fan of this day, but a few of the internet ads I have seen have been really cool, like the doggie high-chair from Ikea. If you haven't seen that one yet, you really have to go over to You-Tube and check it out. It's hilarious!

  7. I've never had any real tricks played on me on April 1 or at least none that I can remember. I would definitely remember the rubber snake though. I hate snakes!
