Every book, every volume you see here, has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens. ~The Shadow of the Wind

Sunday Serenade: Sheila from Book Journeys

I'd like to introduce lovely and inspirational blogger, Sheila from Book Journey.  In meeting Sheila or reading through her blog you will come to discover what a heart of gold she must have!  And anyone who loves Summerhouse by Jude Deveraux is someone I would love to get to know!
Blogging on her deck

What do you do when you're not blogging or reading?
When I am not blogging or reading I am working as a Family Life Administrator.  I am also biking long distance rides spring through late fall in Minnesota, rollerblading, writing my first novel, a yearly mission trip to Honduras, taking Zumba classes and Group Power, hanging with family and friends.... in other words.... I like to stay busy!

The reading room
Describe your favorite place to read and why you love it so much.
It depends on the time of year.  If it is warm and sunny I love to read on my back deck.  The sun warms me and I can prop my feet up on another chair and enjoy the weather while reading.  When the weather is not warm, I love reading in the recliner in my reading room with a warm cozy blanket.

The reading room
What is something we don't know about you and haven't been able to read in your 'about me' section?
Hmmmm....this is a hard one... at the age of 15 I fell off a horse and cracked open my head on a state highway and was airlifted to Minneapolis hospital.  The doctors told my mom that I had a 10% chance of living and if I did live I would be brain dead.  I came out of this with no side effects and no physical signs of the injury.

If you could invite three authors over to your home (ANY authors) for a luscious beverage and most divine cheese and yummy chocolates, who would you invite?
Oh wow... another tough question.  I would love to sit and chat with J K Rowling because the woman fascinates me with her imagination.  Harlan Coben cracks me up with his thrillers and quick whit combination so lets bring him in,  and Adriana Trigiani becuase this woman is so full of life I will never tire of talking to her.

Of course, this list can change on a day to day basis.... there are so many authors I would love to enjoy wine and cheese with.  :)

Biking on a 2-day, 150 mile ride
If your bookshelves caught on fire what five books would your save?
FIVE?????   ONLY FIVE???????   Holy smokes.... which way do I go?  Do I grab the Harry Potter hard covers?  Ok.... seriously...  I would grab my dad's Vietnamese translation book from Vietnam that has already survived one fire (true story), my original hard cover copy of Summerhouse by Jude Deveroux, The book of all Tolkiens writings, my original first edition Nance Drew - The Hidden Staircase, gah - only one more!  I guess Safely Home by Randy Alcorn because I love the read.... and it's closest to the door :)

Name three songs on your playlist right now.  Do you listen to music while you read or blog.
Jai Ho, No Air remix, mama mia workout mix -  I really only listen to music while working out.  I do not listen to music while reading or blogging I find it distracting and I listen to audio when I am in my car.

In Honduras working with kids who live on the streets
Name a quality you admire in yourself and in others.
I really admire honesty and integrity.  Very impressive qualities.  I hold integrity high and so I suppose I find that a quality I admire in myself.... oh, and of course a sense of humor.

Name on three things on your bucket list (things to accomplish in your lifetime - ie jump out of an airplane).
I want to ride an electronic bull.  Complete a century ride (100 biking miles in one day).  Write and publish at least one novel.
