Now Hosted by the lovely & hilarious Jenners at
1 Book you read and/or reviewed: Ghost Shadow by Heather Graham; first book in her latest ghost series (The Bone Island Trilogy) set in the mysterious & rocking Key West, Florida!
2 Words that describe the book: sexy and mysterious
3 Settings where it took place or characters you met: Key West played a major role in the book. From the opening pages where we learn the timeline of the history that occurred on the island including the legalized piracy in early 1820's through 1900's!
4 Things you liked and/or disliked about it:
- I just went to Key West the end of April and I played tourist a couple of days, riding the trolleys that take you all around the island divulging Key West's secrets, INCLUDING the legalized piracy! So all of the facts regarding Key West in Ghost Shadow are true! I LOVE THAT!!! I really appreciate when an author takes the time to research all of the facts about the setting. I cannot even begin to describe how much that means to me as the reader, that the author thinks that highly of me, respects me enough to ensure that the facts are...well....factual! Does that make sense?
- Bartholomew, the ghost was pretty cool...funny, too!
- "Katie-oke" made a fine leading lady! Spunky, ran a karaoke bar (just in case you didnt already pick up on that one...), sees ghosts in her spare time and her best friend IS Bartholomew.
- I read this book on the beach in Florida and at the end there is the excerpt of the first chapter of Ghost Night....the beginning starts with a gruesome murder on the beach.....oooooh....scary stuff!!!!
5 Stars or less for your rating? Ghost Shadow gets 4 Quills from me! Excellent beach read (which is exactly where I read it!)
With your purchase of Ghost Shadow, or any product at Amazon through my link, you will be helping to
support this blog in a small way. Every little bit helps as postage, books, URL hosting fees, the conferences
and workshops become quite expensive. This is truly my labor of love.
It is with tremendous thanks that I received Ghost Shadow from the publisher via NetGalley
for my honest review. In no way did it affect my opinion or review.

Stacy this does sound like another great one.

ReplyDeleteOoo this sounds good. Great interview. Key West is such a cool place.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I would be brave enough to read a murder mystery that happens on the beach, whilst sitting on a beach. You ARE so brave. This does sound good, though.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you joined in Show Me 5 Saturday! I just love it ... a great way to knock off your book reviews! : )
ReplyDeleteI love reading books set in places that you've been to. I visited Key West briefly and definitely want to go back some day ... it has a weird funky vibe to it that I found intriguing!
Graham's books are never available at my library, and now I know why. Thanks for the review and recommendation.
