Every book, every volume you see here, has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens. ~The Shadow of the Wind

Musings & Literary Happenings

I am so excited I can hardly contain myself! I am on my way to Daytona, Florida right now to attend the Southern Independent Bookseller’s Alliance (SIBA) Trade Show! As I missed out on both the BEA and book blogger’s conference, this one is especially exciting for me! Plus, three of my favorite authors are going to be there, and I hope to get lots of autographs to share with you ~ my favorite Lovely Novel Sources! I plan on being in every line I can be for Joshilyn Jackson, Karen White and Susan Gregg Gilmore! And the nighttime author reading with milk and cookies sounds like something my nerdy little heart would just eat up! No worries darlings, I will take tons of pictures, lots of notes and have it all to share when I get back.

Ahh, I must come clean….as it will no doubt be perfectly obvious in any pictures I post from the trade show that have me in it…..I owe you guys an apology. I have not been as active in the blogging community this month due to breaking my hand 2 weeks ago and then a minor surgery a week ago.  Please accept my most sincere apologies and know that this hot pink cast is really beginning to annoy me! And yep, I broke it doing something fun!

My good bloggy friend over at Coffee and a Book Chick has a special review of The Gin Closet by Leslie Jamison along with an interview with the author posted this afternoon. It is really a poignant piece you don’t want to miss!

Beginning October I will be hosting a dear-to-my-heart challenge that has to do with southern literature. I hope you will think of joining along.

If you know of any literary happenings you would like to share, please add in the comments! Thanks all ~ you know I think you guys rock!!!
