Every book, every volume you see here, has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens. ~The Shadow of the Wind

Consider this....

I am a self-professed, card-carrying, proud-to-admit NERD. I love discussion questions. I always preferred those in high school and college....there's just something about a good discussion question that can make your creative juices flow to an overwhelming capacity! At dinner we have these cubes of 500 questions that are so completely off-the-wall but have us talking rather than arguing around the dinner table.  We even take the questions on vacation with us!

So in the fashion of share and share-alike and this being an all-inclusive blog ~ I would like to ask you,my Lovely Novel Sources, a 'consider this' question....

Why is it that when you see a shoe lying on the side of the road,
you only see ONE shoe?

  1. Good question! I'd like to answer it with another question...why is it when I was kayaking on the lake over the weekend, I found a single flip flop in the lake...ON a lily pad?!

  3. I have no idea, but I can’t count how many times I’ve almost left one of my kid’s shoes in a parking lot. I’ll pick them up to put them in their carseat, and off comes the shoe. If they hadn’t said hey my shoe, I wouldn’t have even noticed LOL So if it’s a small shoe a rushed mommy might be to blame.

  4. That is a great question. I've often wondered the same thing.

I understand the mommy angle in the parking lot, but what about the middle of the road?

  5. Right? If you drop one, do like Gandhi and toss the other :)

  6. Oh my gosh, I have never really thought about it but there is always only ONE shoe. What the heck happens to the other one? Hmmm...

  8. I always wonder that too! I always think...ooooh some mom just got real mad in the car and had to make her threat come true and throw her kids shoe out of the car!

  9. My instant reaction is because something must have happened to the owner of the shoe, like an accident, or something, hence one shoe left behind. Or a bag person dropped one the shoes they collect. Now why did I just go all sad and grim with this questions? Must be time for bed.

    Good one Stacy.
