Every book, every volume you see here, has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens. ~The Shadow of the Wind

Sweet Southern Buttermilk Pie

As one small aspect of my blog is about southern recipes imagine my surprise and enjoyment to find a meme to link up with on the weekends sharing recipes, cookbooks, and all things remotely food related! It's so easy to be a part and share your love and knowledge of anything FOOD! For more info or to participate jump on over to Beth Fish Reads.

I'm going to do something that has never been done before in my family....I am going to share the secret recipe to my Granny's Famous Buttermilk Pie with you.*gasp*  "Why," you ask? Well, because it is just too good not to, today is a special day (300 Followers - yippee!), and I'm kind of doing it to honor her memory.  She was one of those cooks who never used a recipe nor a measuring cup. My Granny could also chase & doctor cattle in the morning, pick blackberries in the afternoon and have homemade jelly on the table to go with our biscuits the following morning. Of course us kids had to work right along with her, but somehow we always managed to find time to play in the creek.

I hope you will enjoy this pie. It is one of those that sneaks up on you it is so sweet and yummy!
