Every book, every volume you see here, has a soul. The soul of the person who wrote it and of those who read it and lived and dreamed with it. Every time a book changes hands, every time someone runs his eyes down its pages, its spirit grows and strengthens. ~The Shadow of the Wind

It's Book Blogger Hop & Book Beginnings Friday!

It's time to commemorate our country's birth by celebrating the 4th of July. It is my hope that my friends and readers here in the states will have a safe, healthy and fantabulous July 4th weekend. And to my friends and readers in other countries, raise a glass to us on Sunday!

Now, it's time for the Book Blogger Hop! So hi there! Welcome to A Novel Source!  Jennifer thew a monkey wrench into this week's hop...we are supposed to say our name and why we started blogging. Each week she's going to post a question for us to answer, just to twist it up a bit. Great idea Jennifer!
So, my name is Stacy and I started blogging for several reasons. I want to open a bookstore and I thought blogging about books and my desire would help me along that road. I love books, they've gotten me through many a crisis throughout my life. I love to share my thoughts and feelings about what I read with anyone who will listen. Finding a community of other book lovers has been like falling into heaven. I never thought I would get so addicted to blogging, yet I have. I enjoy visiting other blogs as much if not more than keeping up my own blog, if that makes any sense. I find I run out of time most days, so if anyone has tips on how to manage time with blogging I would greatly appreciate it! Please leave me a tip or say your hellos, and if something catches your eye, I hope you will drop back by and stay awhile.
Have a happy, happy day!
Oh, and by the way, I have a 300 Followers Giveaway in store....it's a good one!  International too! Ahhh, ok, I'll tell ya! I was never good at surprises! I'm always too excited! As soon as I reach 300 Followers I plan to giveaway a $25 gift card to the book store of your choice in the U.S. or if the winner is International it will be $25 to the Book Depository!  And my thank you to all of my amazing, wonderful, incredible followers!  You totally ROCK!

And now for my Book Beginning ~

The Starlet: A Novel
The statue at the center of the fountain was much higher off the ground than it looked. It was also slipperier, with far fewer footholds than a person might be led to believe. At first glance, the mottled bronze tangle of knees, hands, hips, and tails--there were a couple of mermaids involved--seemed to promise an easy climbing experience. Halfway up, however she began to question the motivation and wisdom of her decision, not to mention the depth of the water. What was she doing here anyway? She couldn't remember, but there had to have been a reason. A good reason. There always was. Well usually. Most of the time.
A fun, entertaining book! A must for your beach bag! Check out my review and the awesome giveaway by the author tomorrow!  The Starlet: A Novel by Mary McNamara.

Book Beginnings is a meme hosted by the lovely Becky at Page Turners.  It is a meme where you include the first sentence of a current read and share why or why not you love it (if you like).  I hope you will take a moment to share your current read!

A tremendous thank you to Jennifer at Crazy for Books for hosting the Book Blogger Hop each week.  This is a weekly event  where book bloggers and readers can connect and network. It's been such a wonderful way to find new blogs to read! I hope you're enjoying it as much as I am!!!
