I am so very happy to welcome Michelle from the red headed book child ! She is not only an amazing blogger but also a beautiful red head with a gorgeous child, a great mommy, incredible bookseller and so many other things ~ too many to mention! I am pleased to serenade Michelle this Sunday as she is so deserving of a song! I hope you will take a moment to check out her blog and see her fabulous answers below!
I currently have 3 part-time jobs that "pay" me; a library page, a bookseller and a teacher at a Crisis Shelter for kids. My full-time job that I get paid in hugs and NOs! is a stay at home mom to my little two year old son.
I was laid off about a year ago from my job as a bookstore manager. I was really missing that connection of recommending books to customers and people in my life. So my friends suggested I start a book review blog. I thought it was crazy, considering I am so not tech savvy and I thought Who the heck would read me? The universe online is SO HUGE. But I started in late July 2009 and have slowly built my little blog to what it is now.
Watch my favorite new TV shows; Big Bang Theory, 24, Ghost Adventures, Rescue Me and The Simpsons. Watch movies; horror, action, comedy. Spend time with my lovely son and husband (this is first, obviously!) Eat good food and drink good wine!
I don't do a lot of re-reading honestly. Strange for a book lover, I know. But my list is so long of new books to read that generally just looking at and touching my favorite books on my shelf is good enough for me to bring back the memories. Though I have read Where the Red Fern Grows by Rawls quite a few times!!
Hmmm, lots of things. I am the youngest of five. I am a country girl at heart. I love horror movies. I had open heart surgery when I was 5. My husband told me he wanted to marry me after a week of knowing me. My first job was dipping Dilly Bars at the local Dairy Queen. I hate yard work. I love sweets. I wrote a song about my love for Tom Selleck in Magnum P.I when I was in 2nd grade. I love to buy pajamas. I'm pretty sure I could have had an illicit affair with Chris Noth (Mr Big from Sex and the City) when i encountered him drunk on the streets of NYC. oh crap, I should probably not let that out! Anyhoo, I have pockets full of tidbits about myself. ! :)
Laurie Notaro (for the laughs), John Connolly (for the accent), Jackie Collins (for the dirt). This would totally change depending on my mood! Tough question!
Okay, I would go through this scenario as a child except it would be with my stuffed animals. Anyhoo, I would save my manuscript of My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult, my autographed hardcover of Time Traveler's Wife, my super old edition of Gone with the Wind, my hardcover edition of Beatrix Potter collection and my autographed copy of The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama.
I do not listen to music really when I read. If I do, it is Opera. Weird, I know. My 3 songs are House that built me by Miranda Lambert, Oh Heavenly day by Patty Griffin and Once more with feeling on the Buffy, The Musical episode soundtrack. :)
I admire honesty and respect in others and I admire it in myself as well. I try to be respectful to others but still be honest in who I am. I hate being judged. I try not to judge others.
- Name 3 things on your bucket list.
