Thanks so much for dropping into my little corner of the mountains. Grab a cup of coffee, hot tea, or a glass of wine, prop your feet up for a moment and relax.
I am in my 30s, with 3 teenagers, and I live in a wee cabin in the woods on the side of a mountain. Life is good.
My children are my world, my heart, my soul. I still love to hug on them and smell their unique smells of the latest $50 cologne & perfume.....
Outside of my kids my next passion is BOOKS! Anything & everything BOOKS! I love to read them, collect them, hold them, smell them (nope, i don't taste them, silly!) but oh my goodness I have been reading since before I can remember. Everyone in my family is a reader. My mom & dad, both sets of grandparents, we always had books around. Because of that, I started reading adult books before I read young adult books, weird, i know, but it was all I had, you take what you can get. I read Westerns, Historical Fiction, probably some old Harlequins and lots of Classics....oh and an Encyclopedia or two!
Once I discovered the library and how I could take humongous stacks out I think it was my goal to read every book in the library....I forgot to factor in how the library gets more and more books. So then & there at the young, serious age of 9 I decided one day I would have my own bookstore and I would decide what comes in and what goes out. Well you have to remember I wasn't really thinking much business at that time....only stock.
So, this blog is dedicated to book reviews as I passionately, earnestly LOVE to talk about books to anyone who will listen to me for 1/2 a second. It is also dedicated to recipes of food that I might find in the books that I review, especially Southern Literature, as I'm a Southern gal! And lastly, most definitely not leastly, dedicated to the journey through this next year as I work toward opening my own, yes, my very own, independent bookstore!
I hope you will join me, sit with me awhile some days, comment, share. I shall do the same. Now, go refresh your drink, whether it be coffee, tea or wine, come sit back down and let me know you've been here. I'd love to say hi!

Hi everyone, I am a 20 year old, English major from Atlanta. All my life books have been what it's all about. From the first book I ever read (Dick and Jane) to the last book I shut the cover to, every book leaves a little piece of itself behind in me. I often imagine myself full of tiny slices of books, all culminating to form a collage of wonderful words and images.
When deciding what I wanted to be when I grew up, many things blipped on my radar, starting off with School Bus Driver (don't ask me why..I think I liked the color), and finally settling on..um I have no idea. But all throughout my life one thing was for certain, books were a part of my soul and would always have to be a part of my life. So upon enrolling in college I promptly declared myself an English major (the great love of my life) and decided to go from there. My great future pipe dream is to open my own Cupcakery (the second love of my life being cupcakes). But that dream is on hold until I can slowly build a life after college.
I am so blessed to have the opportunity to review books on this site, I mean come on I get books for free and get to say my truthful opinion of them. As I muddle my way through my studies and a full time job, reading is what keeps me sane and entertained. I hope you enjoy my reviews, I'd love to hear what you think. Good or bad, constructive criticism is what keeps the world moving!
